Age 72, died peacefully at home in Palm Springs, Calif. on Monday, August 20, 2007. He was a generous, loving man who dedicated much of his life to those less fortunate. A graduate of Seattle's Lincoln High School, he is fondly remembered as a counselor at Santa Barbara City College and as the Executive Director of the Ballard Food Bank.

He is deeply missed by his sister, Sonya Relei of Seattle, Wash.; his brothers Michael Shupe of Anchorage, Ala. and Jerry Thorpe of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept.

Longtime Ballard resident died, August 30, 2007 at age 77, in Marquette, MI.

Angela was born Sept. 21, 1929 in Italy and came to the United States on April 11, 1959. Throughout the years, she worked primarily as a caregiver.

Survivors include her son, Patrick (Mary Ann) House of Marquette, MI; two grandchildren, Cora and Michael House; a sister and brother in Italy; and several nieces and nephews.

No services will be scheduled.

Age 59, died August 16, 2007, at Whidbey General Hospital, after a long battle with COPD, with his lady Kay-ce by his side.

Denzil came to Seattle from Idaho, finding his calling in creative hair design. He loved to compete and achieved recognition in national and international hair shows. Denzil was the first person to introduce synthetic nails to the state of Washington.

Besides being missed by their four daughters and son in laws, Lois and Jim Baasch, from Nebraska, Dody and Jack Meyers, of Lacey, WA.

83, passed away on July 22, 2007.

Doris is survived by her husband, John G. Hendricks, of 64 years. Her daughter, Jeanne Ward (Robert) and sons Stanley (Bonnie) and Paul (Kathy), six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. Doris is preceded in death by her brother David W. Carlson in 1973.

Doris (Carlson) graduated from South Kitsap High School and Bremerton Business College. She married John in 1943.

Long time Ballard resident, Rita M. Ness, 70 passed away at Life Care of Skagit Valley on July 1, 2007. She battled a long illness with lung disease and cancer..

She is survived by her daughters Marie Turner (Bryan) and Dorothy Young, sister Betty Willet (Floyd), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be on July 22, 2007 on the 12:20 p.m. Seattle to Bainbridge ferry run. All are welcome.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Society.

88, of Apache Junction, Ariz., passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007. June is survived by her husband Harvey, of 10 years, her children, Ed McIntosh of Bothell, Marjorie Caves of Mesa, Ariz., and Roberta Stowe of Mesa Ariz. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. June spent her life in Ballard up until the last 8 years. June loved to bowl and was a long time member of the Ballard Eagles. A private family service was held.
