I have not tried the new

I have not tried the new lower priced menu, nor can I be considered a "regular". However, I've visited the restaurant and the bar on a number of occasions and I've never had anything less than a wonderful experience.
This is an unfortunate review and I hope it will not dissuade readers from visiting this fine establishment. Bruce and Sarah are wonderful people both in their business and as neighbors. Their staff are experienced professionals, intelligent and a notable part of the experience.
I consider Le Gourmand to be a local treasure and a worthy indulgence.

Le Gourmand used to be better

Le Gourmand was better in the past, but I have noticed a slight downward trend myself. Seattle has become a very sophisticated food town, and diners have many options. Le Gourmand used to be one of the few places to have the kind of high quality ingredients and preparation they have become known for. But they are resting on their laurels now, it seems. A change is in order! Spruce it up, speed up the service, and see where it goes.
