CLEANSING: the Ups, Downs and Arounds of It
Why, when and how do we approach cleansing the body with foods, herbal formulas and adjunct therapies? This class will give an overview of approaches to cleansing the bowel, liver, kidneys and lymph systems and how to adjust standard cleanses for different constitutions. Learn the art of weaving cleansing and building through the use of tonic herbs and foods. The common pitfalls of cleansing, working with emotional content and how cleansing can be a path to enhance the relationship we have with our bodies, will also be discussed. $28 registration or pay at the door.

Instructor Karin Uphoff has a master’s in zoology from Arizona State University and diplomas in Herbal Medicine and Iridology from the Selfheal School in the United Kingdom. She is the author of "Botanical Body Care: Herbs and Natural Healing for Your Whole body (2007)," based on a community class she has taught for a decade. She’s a member of the American Herbalist Association, the American Herbalist Guild, United Plant Savers, and the American Botanical Council.
