This summer we will begin to explore The Transition Handbook: From Oil Dependency to Local Resilience by Rob Hopkins. This hands-on guide offers pragmatic ways to help communities deal with the inevitable and profound changes ahead. Santoro’s Books in Phinney Ridge is offering a 15 percent discount on the book.

Sustainable food

Come learn about community gardening movements, including reflections on the wartime victory gardens, information about Seattle’s P-Patch program and ways to support the development of a P-Patch in our neighborhood.

Baseball camp

July 6 – 10: fielding, July 13 – 17: hitting, July 20 – 24: total baseball, July 24 – 31: advanced hitting. For 8 – 12 year olds, $130 per session. Bring baseball cap, mitt, long pants, water and lunch. Call or come in to register.
