Air pistol involved in neighbor conflict
It was nearly 1 a.m. when police units were sent to a Ballard home on a report of loud music. While officers spoke to the neighbor who called 911, a man walked towards them. The neighbor had previous contact with the suspect that evening and said he was carrying a gun. Officer detained the suspect and found him very intoxicated or on drugs. He was wearing a shoulder holster with an air pistol in it. The suspect said there had been a prowler at his home recently. When the neighbor knocked on his door to ask him to turn down the music, the suspect did not know who he was and armed himself. The pistol was designed for competition and did not have the typical red tip. Officers advised the suspect to keep the gun inside the home.
Escape from intimidator
Police officers found a teary eyed woman last week who was harassed by a strange man on the street. The man had scruffy facial hair, a black beanie, tan jacket over a red-orange flannel shirt, jeans and was holding a key chain with lots of keys on it. He began following the woman when she yelled at him to leave her alone. He replied, "Like no one is around. What are you going to do now? There's no one around to hear you scream." Fearing she was about to be robbed, the woman flagged down a passing motorist and begged the couple in the vehicle to let her in. Once inside the car, the suspect yelled, "now I know your license plate number. Now I know where you live." Officers could not locate the suspect.
Gun pointed in road rage
Over at the Seattle Police Department's North Precinct, a man showed up to report an incident of road rage. A late model yellow Ford Mustang had pulled up next to him on Holman Road and the driver pointed a metallic gun at him, then left the scene. The victim told police earlier in the day, someone had written the word for a certain part of the male anatomy on his frost covered car window. The victim told officers he believed it was the same man from the road rage.
Robber needs Christmas drugs
A robber entered a north Seattle pharmacy with a gun, pointed it at the pharmacist's head and demanded drugs. The suspect said he did not have money to pay his bills, it was Christmas and he needed drugs. He stuffed a number of different drugs into his pockets and told the pharmacist not to call police for at least five minutes. When the police arrived, there were no fingerprints because the suspect wore latex gloves. A K-9 dog was called in, but it was a windy night and that threw off the scent. Fortunately the suspect was caught on candid camera. The video will be turned over to detectives.
Where's my snowboard?
Winter won't be much fun for one man after the brand new snowboard and bindings he purchased were placed in a crawl space above his bathroom. Last week his landlord had roofers over to do some work. They opened up the roof and would have had access to the snowboard. He suspects they took his snowboard and planned to talk to his landlord about the company he hired.
Taxi driver gropes woman
Because she was very drunk, a woman called a cab to take her back to her Ballard home. The driver was friendly and opened the taxi door for her, then walked her to her house. The driver than came up behind her and touched her inappropriately. She called the police and gave a description and phone number for the cab.
Car stolen in "Freelard"
Late one evening, a couple parked in "Freelard," that area in between Ballard and Fremont to get a drink. When they returned, the car was gone. Inside the car was a computer and the husband's wallet, containing credit cards. The thief immediately used the credit card to buy gas for the stolen car.
Unlocked window, gun stolen
After returning home from the shooting range with his 9mm pistol, a man put his gun in his closet. Soon after, an acquaintance came over with another person. They talked about guns and the acquaintance knew where the gun was stored. A week later the gun was stolen. Other items like a laptop, home electronics and a shotgun were left untouched. Outside the house were footprints below a window and the window may have been unlocked.
