I agree that it's nice to see that someone has the"knotties" to stand up and say that this new espresso stand is just in poor taste. I live a mere 3 blocks away and I'm pissed to think I get to walk by with my 2 young daughters on my way to ballard market. We all know sex sells but when are we as a community going to say enough is enough! We need to stop objectifying womens bodies to sell products and educate not only our children but ourselves too. Marketing and advertising will do anything to get our dollars - don't support this business - I know that I certainly won't AND I will be voicing my anger to the owner and anyone else who will listen.
I have a feeling this place won't be open for long IF they open at all.

Hey everyone, I think I may have spoken too hastily! Upon further investigation I read that owner Mike Rockey plans to have a car wash in mid-July to raise money for Childrens Hospital - CHILDRENS HOSPITAL!! I take everything back - this is obviously a guy who really cares about the community AND little children. Sorry Mike - I didn't realize you were such a stand-up guy. PLEEEEEZZZE!!! Mike if you think that's gonna make your boring business idea fly in ballard you really are the typical stupid white male. Ballardites are a whee bit smarter than that. But hey Mikey don't give up - scantily covered mammary glands will always be a big draw when one ponders where to grab a latte.

Its in poor taste. Why is it necessary to have a half clothed girl make your coffee? You know the coffee tastes like crap yet you pretend its amazing and hurry back for more. I'm in the same age bracket as these girls and no one would find them more appealing than I. But I don't. GO to a bar, or a beach. Or Jog around greenlake you fat slobs. It will fail, because its a joke, and a fad, and these girls have no self esteem. Regardless of what they say. Get a real job and show a little self respect.
I enjoy coffee form a nicely clothed young women who offers me a little more than a skimpy outfit, Its called a PERSONALITY.

In response to the stupid white male, all I have to say is that I feel terribly bad for you. I cannot begin to relate to how it must feel to have these negative prejudgments towards people you have not even met. I could go on right now explaining myself to you but there isn't a need. The bottom line is, you do not know the girls that are working at this stand and it's really a pity that you would spend time expressing these opinions you have. I am thankful that I have a job that can give me full time hours along with gratuities. On top of that I have access to both medical and dental benefits at no expense to me because I have a great employer. The girls are hardworking and intelligent as well as fun to work with. Your judgments only matter to you. I on the other hand know better than to take such things too personally I know who I am and you obviously do not.

I must admit I was'nt to thrilled about them opening their stand. As it appears, even thou they are not wearing to much, there keeping it pretty much low key. When you stop to think about it, you would'nt even know they were there. They don't play loud music or act obnoxios. If people dont like their buisiness, Simple soloution, don't go there!!!!! I for one wish them well.

maybe the location is wrong! but drop it. what is all the drama going to do about it? do you think by complaining your going to shut the place down? probably not! so what it done and over with now.... let the owner and the employees be! i happen to personally know the owner VERY well. and also one of the girls who works there. Mike has one of the biggest hearts in this world. and maybe if you all would shut your mouth and learn alittle about him and what he is about instead of putting him down all the time you would know that. there is nothing wrong with what he is doing. everyone has different views on things... if you dont like it dont look at it and go get your coffee somewhere else! good work mike :)

I thought it was great. Made my day the girl working was friendly and made a great hot chocolate. There was a church across the street? I never noticed...lol. If you don't like the shop stay on your side of the street pretty simple. I don't want to hear your Jesus talk so I stay away from the church and don't complain that it is across the street from the gas station I go to. Put the shoe on the other foot people, it's all fine and good leave the girls alone. I will say I wish we had stuff like that over here in New Hampshire glad I came across it during my visit. I will be sure to pick up the Playboy with one of the girls in it as well. ;)

Is our society that screwed up, that when somebody has an idea that works for them, others are going to protest? If you don't agree with it, don't patronize the business. If enough people "boycott" the business, they won't last.

For those that say it is about not exposing the kids to scantily clad women, do you own a television? Do the kids watch at all? Half naked women are everywhere. Kids will one day grow up to be adults, and if they think that half naked women are "taboo", they will be really screwed up. Get ready for therapy.

Time Again to Refocus

It's time to refocus people. We are running out of water, the water we are drinking is toxic. Fish are toxic, air it toxic and the world is in complete distress in every sense.

We should be concerned about a girl in a bathing suit why? If she was at the beach would you have a problem? Get a grip and put your energy in making an positive impact. Local charities and non-profits stand waiting for your help. Stop being reactionary and trite. Reach out, there are bigger issues that require your help.

This isn't about swim suits or even kids - although it's a bit odd to see a porno/coffee hut just 30 feet from a kiddie park. Yikes.

No... It's the neighborhood itself. Look. Everett's neighborhoods have let in seedy businesses like these and soon found out that the people surrounding them are involved in prostitution and other serious crimes.

Here is what has happened JUST in Everett, JUST in the last two months...

1. Five prostitute baristas got caught trading sex for cash and charged by Everett Police.

2. Here's a guy who murdered someone right in the drive through of the "Cowgirls Espresso stand." Another fine example of decent moral business leadership in Everett. (Sarcasm intended.) Reason for the murder? His barista girlfriend got a ride to work from another guy. Of course. makes sense.

While I don't agree that the place should be shut down, the location is something that needs to be rethought. The business has the right to operate, even if I don't agree with the idea of using 'sex' to sell coffee.

Placing it next to a park where children play, especially when the location doesn't support a drive-thru, was unthoughtful. Using the thought process that, just because it's on tv that children should be exposed to it in real life since they'll see it anyways is idiotic at best. Parents have the right to monitor what their children should and should not be exposed to. And because the place is located next to a park, it has taken that right away from parents in a sense. That I find in poor taste.

I think the business should find a more appropriate location that doesn't interfere with Schools and parks.

Hold yourselves accountable for how your own children are raised. There are many horrible things that happen in this world... things far worse than bikini stands and it is your responsiblity to make sure your children are raised as you see fit.

Targetting the drive through is a poor arguement, the location has supported a drive through for years.

Its a fun sales gimmick so get over it. Shutting this place down is putting people out of work and taking away there medical and dental benefits which may be more important than sheilding some kids who lack good parenting.
