RE Store recycled art show extended into June

Rubbish is reborn for The RE Store's 8th Annual Recycled Art Show in Blowing Sands Glass Studio.

The juried exhibit, now extended to June 6, features would-be trash fashioned by local professional artists into original collage, sculpture, textiles, and mixed media pieces.

The Recycled Art and Fashion Show is part of a large-scale partnership coordinated by The RE Store, of Bellingham and Ballard, cooperating with Allied Arts of Whatcom County, The Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner, Western Washington University’s Viking Gallery 507, and the Blowing Sands Gallery. The show featured five art shows in two cities, two Trash Fashion Shows, and a hands-on art workshop series.

Blowing Sands Glass Studio is located at 5801 14th Ave. N.W. in Ballard. The gallery will be open 6 to 9 p.m. for the Saturday, May 9 Ballard Art Walk.  Regular hours are 11 to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
